The packing and the vehicles of transport of dangerous merchandize must be identified by means of labels (or risk labels) and of plates (or panels) of security, in order to;
- To cause that the materials are clear easily at a distance by the general aspect of the symbol (the form and the color).
- To allow the fast identification of the risks that present.
- To provide by means of the colors of the labels and the numbers of the panels, the precautions to observe during the manipulation and packs
In Figure 1 they appear the labels of risks for the nine classes of dangerous merchandize and the models of labels of secondary risk.
Generally to the packing they do not have to pay attention more than a risk label. In the cases in that the merchandize present more of an important risk, the packing must have the additional labels corresponding to the secondary risks.
