It is the departmental or national transport realized between two or more municipalities in direct form, without the transfer accomplishment.

The intermunicipal service is responsible for almost 95% of the total of the transfers realized in the country. Its participation in the Paraguayan economy is expressive that is translated to an annual entrance of million guaraníes.

At present 133 companies exist operating in the intermunicipal transport service of passengers who cover great amount with lines in all the national territory. The vehicle park of these companies includes 1421 units.
